1 kidnapper shot dead, businessman rescued from Patna

Patna, July 31 (UNI) A kidnapper was killed and another injured during a shoot-out with a police team which had gone to rescue an abducted businessman at Kankarbagh colony here today.

The joint team of Patna and Jamshedpur police raided a hide-out near the new bypass at Kankarbagh and rescued Vishwanath Garg from the clutches of kidnappers.

Police said acting on a tip-off, the joint team raided the hide-out and rescued Mr Garg and his driver after an encounter with the criminals during which one of them was shot dead and another injured.

Three criminals were also arrested during the operation.

Mr Garg was abducted from Jamshedpur on July 17.
