Thiruvananthapuram, July 30 (UNI) A web portal and a call centre to prevent cyber crimes were launched in Kerala today.

Inaugurating the website ''http://www.cyberkeralam.in'' and call centre (0471-2727004), State IT Secretary K R Jyotilal said the portal would function as the interface with the public to deal with cyber crimes. It also envisaged providing information regarding cyber security and cyber forensics to people.

Any cyber crime victim can report the crime through this portal.

The complaint would be handled by the High Tech Crime Enquiry Cell of the Kerala Police with the help of the Resource Centre for Cyber Forensics (CDAC) in Thiruvananthapuram.

He said all the 'Akshaya Centres', being set up as part of the state government's e-literacy campaign, would be equipped with e-mail tracer software to deal with cyber crimes.

Cyber crime victims could also ring up the call centre to find out procedures to be followed for filing complaints.
