Two PoK writers among 175 people cross LoC
Jammu, July 30 (UNI) At least 175 people from separated parts of Jammu and Kashmir crossed over to either sides from Chakan-Da-Bagh point on Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of the state, official sourcs said.
Ninety-three people, including 30 fresh visitors to PoK, crossed over to other side, while 26 visitors from that side entered Jammu and Kashmir.
Fifty-six Indians also returned after meeting their dear ones in PoK.
Meanwhile, eminent scholar and writer Saba Afaqi and journalist Mukhlis Wajadani from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) also crossed over to this side of the state by Rawalakote-Poonch bus service, which was started as a part of confidence-building measures between India and Pakistan.
Both the guests, who represent Gujjar community, were having a long-standing invitation from their counterparts here, Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation head Javed Rahi told UNI.
Dr Afaqi has authored 50 books on different subjects, while Mr Wajadani is a popular broadcaster of Radio Pakistan Muzaffarabad, Mr Rahi informed about the Gojari scholars.
