New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) One of the trustees of Lilawati Hospital in Mumbai today suggested the name of former judge of the Supreme Court S N Variava as the new administrator of the leading hospital in place of Dr Ramamoorthy who is not keeping well.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendaran adjourned till Monday next the hearing of the application, praying for the appointment of new administrator in place of Dr Ramamoorthy who has fallen ill and does not want to continue as administrator.

Notably, the Supreme Court had earlier nominated two administrators for the hospital namely Dr Trivedi and Dr Ramamoorthy who are directed to report to the board of trustees. There is a family dispute among 11 trustees of the hospital with ten on one side and one on the other side.

The counsel for applicant gave four to five names to replace Dr Ramamoorthy but none of them was acceptable to the other side. The counsel for the lone trustee suggested the name of Justice Variava as replacement for ailing Dr Ramamoorthy.

There is family dispute among the trustees of the hospital to have control over it.

Notably, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee were operated upon for arthritis in the same hospital, which is the leading hospital of the commercial capital of India.
