Tripura protests killing of peasants at Khammam
Agartala, July 30 (UNI) Left-backed All India Farmers Union, Tripura council today organised a protest rally against the killing of eight innocent farmers in Andhra Pradesh's Khammam district.
Condemning the incident, council leader Narayan Kar here said the demands of the farmers should be fulfilled and demanded Rs five lakh compensation to each victim's family.
Mr Kar said the farmers along with 154 Left organisations were conducting the protest rally demanding allocation of agricultural land to the farmers assured by the Andhra government.
However,
the
Andra
police
opened
fire
on
the
innocent
farmers
killing
eight
of
them,
Mr
Kar
said,
adding
that,
''It
was
total
violation
of
civil
right
of
poor
farmers
and
a
planned
murder
under
the
cover
of
law.''
