Threat to protest before PM residence a political gimmick: KPCC
Thiruvananthapuram, July 30 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today alleged that threat to protest before the Prime Minister's residence by the Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan was only a ''political gimmick'' to deviate attention from the real problems of the state.
In a statement here, Mr Chennithala said in the case of monsoon related relief, the Centre was providing additional funds after the state had utilized the already sanctioned funds.
However, the government did not spend the additional funds sactioned by the Centre, he alleged.
The Chief Minister was hiding all these facts and the threat to sit-in before the Prime Minister's residence was a ''political gimmick'' , he said and added all the issues could be sorted out through discussions with the Centre.
Moreover, CPI(M) members were also present at the meeting of advisory committee for relief matters, but the Chief Minister did not pressurise the Centre through his own party members, he alleged.
