Son kills aged parents in Punjab

Tarn Taran, July 30 (UNI) In a bizarre incident, a son beat his parents to death with a pestle at their residence in Sarhali Kalan village in the district this morning, police here said.

According to the police, 27-year-old Nishan Singh after an argument with his parents, picked up a pestle from the kitchen and struck his 65-year-old father Swaran Singh and mother Manjit Kaur on the heads. He administered them a number of blows even as they pleaded for mercy.

While Swaran Singh died on the spot, Manjit Kaur died after she was admitted to a hospital here. The police has arrested Nishan Singh and registered a murder case against him.

According to the police, the alleged culprit blamed his parents for his failed marriage. His wife and children had left him sometime back and gone back to her parents home.
