Manipur: 6 hardcore militants nabbed in last 24 hrs
Imphal, Jul 30: Six hardcore militants belonging to two different outfits were nabbed by the Army and the police in separate incidents here in the last 24 hours.
Imphal West SP Clay Khongsai today said their commnados have nabbed three members of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK).
They were identified as Milan, Prem Singh and Tokpam Somendro, who worked in the finance section of the outfit under the command of one Sengjenba. They were serving demand letters in Imphal area and extortion money, the SP said.
In a separate incident, a cadre of People's United Liberation Front(PULF), identified as Md Shikander Ali was nabbed by 32 Assam Rifles yesterday, the PRO of Assam Rifles said.
In another incident, a PULF cadre identified as Sgt Amjad Ali was also nabbed by troops. In yet another incident, troops of 34 Assam Rifles nabbed a cadre of PREPAK Sgt Maj Elangbam Umojeet. One 9 mm pistol and four live rounds of ammunition were also recovered from his possession.
Umojeet was handed over to the Thoubal Police yesterday.
