Rupee falls further by 9 paise

Mumbai, July 30: Rupee fell further today as market stood highly cautious about the Reserve Bank's policy review due tomorrow.

The local unit opened at 40.58/60 per US dollar, nearly 9 paise down, from the previous close of 40.50/51 per USD.

Later, it dipped to 40.60 per USD prior to staging an impressive recovery to a comfortable level of 40.53/54, at which it is currently trading.

Foreign inflows were reportedly weak during the first half of the day, according to dealers.
