Jaipur, July 30 (UNI) Emergency services in city's Sawai Mansingh Medical College and its nine-affiliated hospitals have been crippled as resident doctors have struck work indefinitely protesting against privatisation of radio-diagnostic machines.

The stir was called by Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors at midnight yesterday after Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and State Education Minister failed to meet their delegation. The doctors the have gone on five-day holiday enmasse.

In view of the strike, Sawai Man Singh hospital authorities have deployed senior doctors on duty and claim the emergency services are running smoothly, although, reports claimed patients are being released due to shortage of medical staff.

Meanwhile, the resident doctors have been called for negotiations.

Resident doctors burnt the effigy of SMS Medical Ccollege principal Ashok Pangaria, who has reportedly gone on leave.
