Reliance Energy wins Sasan 4,000 MW Power Proj

New Delhi, July 30: Reliance Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Energy Ltd, has won the 4,000 MW Sasan Thermal Power Project, the largest domestic coal-based power project in the country at a single location, with capital outlay of over Rs 20,000 crore.

Reliance has emerged as the successful bidder in the revised evaluated bids for the Sasan Project, with the lowest bid of levelised tariffs of Rs 1.196 per unit.

''We are delighted to have won India's largest Ultra Mega Power Project through an international competitive bidding process. We look forward to building this world-class infrastructure facility,'' said Reliance Energy Ltd Chairman Anil Dhirubhai Ambani.

The Rs 20,000 crore investment in the Sasan project will contribute in accelerating India's economic growth by substantially raising the current generation capacity, he added.
