Panaji, July 30 (UNI) The congress today said there was no need to impose ''President's Rule'' in Goa as the Congress-led coalition government, headed by Digambar Kamat, has won the confidence vote.

''There is no case of ''President's Rule'' as our government has won the vote of confidence,'' All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Shantaram Nfaik told mediapersons at the Congress House.

Mr Naik condemned the act of some BJP members disrespecting the Speaker's office by hurling abuses on him, besides exhibiting unruly behaviour by physically kicking the doors of his chamber.

The victory of the government had, he said, also ''shattered the BJP's dream of bringing 'mafia raj' in Goa''.

He also censured BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy for suggesting to Union Home Minister to direct the Speaker to adhere to the norms of the House.

Taking the GDA members to the Rashtrapathi Bhawan for parading them before the President was nothing but an attempt to dramatise the situation for national publicity, he added.
