Precious metals steady
Mumbai, July 30 (UNI) Both the precious metals today remained steady on moderate demand, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
Silver (fineness) resumed low this morning at Rs 17,635 per kg on thin buying support. Later, it rose and closed at its Saturday's level of Rs 17,650 per kg. on moderate demand.
In London, silver edged up at USD 12.70/12.72 per troy ounce as compared to its last close of USD 12.60/12.62 per troy ounce.
However, spot standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened high at Rs 8,720 and Rs 8,770 per ten gm respectively on good demand.
Later, standard gold remained steady and closed at the same level at Rs 8,720 per ten gm with a gain of Rs five from its last close.
Pure gold also closed at its Saturday's level of Rs 8,765 per ten gm.
In the London market, gold also remained flat at 656/660 per troy ounce against 656/660 per troy ounce, traders said.
