Police apprehends 14 Myanmarese poachers

Port Blair, Jul 30 (UNI) Andaman and Nicobar Police today arrested 14 Myanmarese poachers from the forests of Paget Island in Northern Andaman.

Andaman Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Chand told UNI here that acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap in the forests and nabbed the poachers.

The police team had camped at Karen Nallah and Paget Island of North Andaman for several days to apprehend the poachers. Later, police recovered rice, fuel and other items from their possession.

''These foreign poachers will be brought to Port Blair for further legal action and investigation,'' the SP said.
