PM to review law and order in AP

Hyderabad, July 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hold a review meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and top police officials to assess the law and order in the state, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy said today.

Dr Singh is scheduled to arrive in the city tonight as part of his one-day official visit to the state.

Talking to newspersons, after attending a law and order review meeting with the Chief Minister here, he said the state government would explain the law and order situation and the land struggle launched by the Left parties.

The naxal issue would also feature in the discussion, he said.

Stating that the judicial inquiry into the police firing had already started, the Minister said those people who were responsible for the firing, were already suspended.
