One killed in Sabarmati express in UP
Lucknow, July 30 (UNI) One person was shot dead by armed criminals during a robbery on the Sabarmati Express near Kanpur this morning.
According to police, Mohammad Alam a resident of Ambedkarnagar district, travelling on sleeper coach No- 10 was shot dead when he tried to stop a criminal from snatching his valuables.
The incident occurred just after the train left Kanpur central station and stopped near the Govindpur station.
The passenger was shot when he caught the hand of the assailant through the window.
A case has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprit.
The train was on its way to Surat from Gorakhpur.
