NBA activists restart Satyagraha

Barwani, MP, July 30 (UNI) Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) activists re-started their indefinite 'Satyagraha' over issues related to the Sardar Sarovar Project this evening.

In a statement issued here, the NBA stated that the Rs 40,000 crore-project has not provided estimated profit to Madhya Pradesh and rehabilitation of thousands of families had not taken place.

The demand for land in lieu of land has not been fulfilled.

Besides, no action has been taken in connection with corruption related to fake registry and rehabilitation.

Sources said 65 agitators, who were arrested on July 25, started indefinite 'Satyagraha' today.

Barwani Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jamuna Bhinde said 91 agitators, including NBA leader Medha Patkar who were arrested on July 25, were granted bail this afternoon.
