Mudigonda firing: Left workers stage dharna

Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, July 30: Left party workers today staged a dharna before the district R&B guest house here and prevented Health Ministers V Venkatewarlu and S Chandrasekhar from proceeding towards Mudigonda, where six people were killed in police firing on July 28.

Police said the district left party leaders and workers stopped the two ministers, who represent Khammam district, at the guest house. Tension prevailed there for some time.

While police dispersed the mob from the guest house, the two ministers cancelled their visit to Mudigonda village.

Six people were killed in police firing in Mudigonda on Saturday, when Leftist workers and supporters staged dharna, demanding that the government distribute lands to the poor.
