MP Council of Ministers to be expanded

Bhopal, July 30 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP government's Council of Ministers, headed by Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is likely to be expanded in the first week of August.

Disclosing this to journalists in the Assembly press room, the Chief Minister said, ''I intend to effect the expansion after the ongoing monsoon session.'' It is believed that the exercise could take place on August 5 or 6.

The Council has 26 members, including Mr Chouhan, and the rules permit a maximum of 35.

The inclusion of BJP MLA and former minister Gaurishankar Shejwar is a probability. Dr Shejwar, considered a confidante of Bhartiya Janashakti Founder-President and former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, remained suspended for about eight months and the suspension was recently waived.

Ms Archana Chitnis and Kailash Chawla are also prospective candidates.
