MP Assembly offers tributes

Bhopal, July 30 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today offered tributes to Dhar's former MP Bharat Singh Chouhan and ex-member Mehmaan Shah Uike who represented Paraswada.

As soon as proceedings got underway, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani made the obituary references.

Commerce and Industry Minister Babulal Gaur, who is also a former chief minister, paid tributes on behalf of the BJP. Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi described Mr Chouhan as ''a socialist leader.'' Others who offered tributes were Mr Narayan Tripathi (SP), Mr Harivallabh Shukla (RSD) and Mr Hamid Qazi (NCP).

A brief silence was observed and the house adjourned for five minutes as a mark of respect to the departed leaders.
