Minister admits police failure to arrest accused

Bhopal, July 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh today admitted that police had failed to arrest an accused in Bhind district.

Replying to a question by Dr Govind Singh (Cong) during the question hour, Mr Singh said efforts were being made to arrest a warrantee, Ambreesh Sharma.

Earlier, Dr Singh pointed out that the Minister had assured that the accused would be arrested soon while replying to a call attention motion during Assembly's budget session in February.

He alleged that Ambreesh was seen along with a former Chief Minister during a programme organised in Bhind. The photographs were published in newspaper.

Dr Singh was seen holding a newspaper cutting in his hand.

A heated exchange took place between ruling party members and opposition members over this issue.

The matter came to an end after the Minister assured that the accused would be arrested soon.
