Mcleod Russel to diversify in jatropha cultivation: Aditya Khaitan
Kolkata, Jul 30 (UNI) With a plan to diversify in biodiesel production, tea major Mcleod Russel India Ltd will invest Rs 50-60 crore in Jatropha cultivation in the next two to three years.
Speaking to mediapersons here today Mcleod Russel Managing Director Aditya Khaitan said, ''We have entered into a joint venture agreement with DI and Williamson Magor.
Our investment will be routed through this venture for Jatropha cultivation and create infrastructure for refinery to produce biodiesel.'' DI has tied up with British Petroleum to strengthen this venture, he said.
Mcleod would cultivate Jatropha in an area of 30,000 hectares in Asom.
