Mann's judicial custody extended till Aug 13

Jalandhar, July 30 (UNI) A local court today extended till August 13 the judicial custody of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann and 20 others, facing sedition charges.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Varinder Aggarwal extended the judicial custody of Mann, Shiromani Akali Dal (Jafferwal) president Wasan Singh Jafferwal and 19 others, including a woman, who were booked under sedition charges for desecrating the statue of slain Punjab chief minister Beant Singh.

Mann, along with his supporters, had allegedly garlanded the statue of Beant Singh with the posters of his assassin, Dilawar Singh in May here at the BMC Chowk.
