Mamlatdar arrested for killing 'nilgai' in Kheda

Nadiad, July 30 (UNI) A deputy mamlatdar has been arrested on charges of killing a nilgai on July 22, near Mohar river at Kokarwad village of Katlal taluka, 25 km from here.

Katlal police said the 'nilgai', an endangered animal, was shot dead by the revolver of the mamlatdar H S Malek. He was accompanied by five to six men who are now wanted by the police, sources said here today.

Katlal police has registered as case under Arms Act and Forest Act 1972, sources added.
