Kerala Tourism bags PATA awards

Thiruvananthapuram, July 30 (UNI) Kerala Tourism has once again bagged two Pacific Asia Travel Association's (PATA) 2007 awards in culture and brochure categories.

An official release here said Aranmula, which won the award in the culture category for its various renowned cultural centres, was among the three villages in India selected for implementing the indigenous Tourism project.

The award-winning brochures, a four-set series, showcased the renowned destinations of Kumarakom, Thekkady, Munnar and Wayanad.

State Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan attributed these awards to Kerala Tourism's sustainable policy and strong marketing strategies.

The special congratulatory message to the Department of Tourism from PATA lauded the achievement that would help provide a chance for new ideas and products to stand out and get recognised, thus contributing to the development of the Tourism industry.
