Jauhar University writ petition hearing on Aug 2

Allahabad, July 30 (UNI) Allahabad High Court will hear a writ petition filed by Mohammad Ali Jauhar University seeking stay against the demolition of the structure including the varsity's boundary wall on August two.

The writ was filed by former Uttar Pradesh minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohd Azam Khan before the Lucknow Bench of Delhi High Court. Later, it was transferred to the Allahabad High Court on the grounds of territorial jurisdiction.

The case was listed before a division bench, comprising Justices B S Chauhan and Rakesh Sharma for hearing today.

Chief Standing Counsel M C Chaturvedi was present in the court to oppose the writ, but the counsel for the petitioner was not present in the court to press the petition. Therefore, the hearing of the case was postponed till August two.
