Festive mood in Dr Haneef's father-in-law's house
Bangalore, July 30: A festive mood prevailed in Dr Mohammed Haneef's father-in-law's house in BTM lay out in the City today, even as hundreds of people thronged to greet Dr Haneef who returned home after a 27-day ordeal with Australian Police as a suspected terrorist.
The Indian doctor, against whom the Australian authorities withdrew charges of extending reckless support to terrorism activites in connection with failed Glasgow Airport bomb attack, arrived here last night. He was accompanied by his lawyer Peter Russo and cousin Imran Siddiqui.
The fan following Dr Haneef was likely to grow as several organisations inviting him to attend functions.
Meanwhile police sources confirmed that they would have a 'talk' with Dr Haneef as early as possible soonest.
Mr Russo, meanwhile, said that the legal team would get back the Visa which was withdrawn earlier by the Australian Immigration Ministry. &34;The hearing in the court will come up on August 8 and we will do our best to get the Visa restored&34; he said.
Mr Humayan Siddiqui, father of Imran Siddiqui, cousin of doctor's wife Firdous, said that the family was happy that the government of Karnataka had offered him a good job. &34;But Haneef will have to take a final decision in this regard&34;.
