Cong workers damage party office, burn Sonia's poster
Jalandhar, July 30 (UNI) The supporters of a Congress leader, whose ticket to contest coming corporation elections was cancelled at the last moment, today badly damaged the party office here.
The Congress party last night cancelled the party ticket alloted to Manjeet Kaur from ward no. 43 and instead gave it to one Kulwant Kaur to contest the forthcoming municipal corporation elections to be held on August 8.
The disgruntled supporters of Manjeet Kaur, led by her husband Gyan Singh, burned the poster of All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and the party flag and damaged the office property in protest.
