Commodore S K Jha takes charge of INS Venduruthy
Kochi, July 30 (UNI) Commodore S K Jha took over as the Naval Officer-in-charge of Kerala, from Commodore A T Lucose at an impressive parade held in the Naval Base here.
Commissioned into the Naval Service in 1978, Commodore Jha is a specialist Hydrographer. He had commanded survey ships INS Nirdeshak and INS Nirupak. He was the Officer-in-Charge of Hydrographic School and the Chief Hydrographer/Chief Ports Officer to the Maharashtra Government.
He was an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the Naval War College. A recipient of the 'Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry)' , he was the Principal Director of Hydrography at the Naval Headquarters and Co-Chairman of Indo-Mauritius Hydrographic Committee, prior to taking up this appointment.
Commodore Lucose, on relinquishing command of INS Venduruthy, would take over as the Commanding Officer of the naval base at New Delhi 'INS India'.
