BJP demands Left parties to withdraw support to UPA

Vijayawada, July 30 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today demanded the Left parties to withdraw their support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government in protest against the Mudigonda firing incident in Khammam district on Saturday, in which six people were killed.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP National Executive Council Member K Haribabu said if the Left parties CPI and CPM failed to withdraw support to the UPA, the people of the state would think that they have launched the land struggle for their political gain and not for the poor.

He said the firing by the police on innocent people who were agitating peacefully, was 'unfortunate' and added the party condemned it.
