Bhubaneswar, July 30 (UNI) The Rajasthan government has asked its Orissa counterpart to attach the property of Director General of Police (Prison)B B Mohanty for allegedly aiding his son Biti Mohanty jump parole on December 4 last year.

Biti Mohanty was sentenced to seven years jail by a local court for raping a German lady.

State Home Secretary T K Mishra told newsmen here that a letter in connection with the attachment of the property of DGP B B Mohanty had been received by the government.

The matter had been referred to the Law Department which in turn suggested to consult the State Advocate General, he added.

The Additional District Magistrate of Jaipur had earlier issued a warrant of attachment against Mr Mohanty and directed the Orissa Chief Secretary to attach his property if he failed to deposit the surety bond of Rs.50,000 within 15 days.

Biti, lodged in Jaipur central jail, was granted parole and was supposed to report on December 4 last year but he failed to do so and remained untraced. His father had been maintaining that he had no idea about the whereabouts of his son and that he had not signed the parole bond.

The Rajasthan police, on the other hand, had been alleging that the DGP had released his son on parole after furnishing necessary documents. They arrived here in December and again in January to trace Biti.
