2 arrested for firing at woman protesting daughter's molestation
New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested two persons from the Samayapur Badli area for firing at a woman in Bawana a few days ago who was protesting the molestation of her daughter by the criminals.
Navin and Manjit, residents of village Harevli in Bawana, were arrested from the Samayapur Badli area yesterday evening in connection with the attempt to murder of Dhaneswari, mother of 16-year-old Neetu who had been molested by the two accused along with another accomplice.
Interrogation revealed that on July 27, the three had molested Neetu on finding her alone. On Neetu's mother Dhaneswari's complaint, Naveen was thrashed by his father.
In a fit of revenge, Naveen then went to Dhaneswari's house and shot her point blank with a .315 bore pistol. Dhaneswari sustained a gunshot injury on her chest and was admitted in hospital in a serious condition.
While Surender, the accomplice of Navin and Manjit was arrested on the same day by the local police, Navin and Manjit managed to escape.
