Tributes paid to Puducherry's First Chief Minister

Puducherry, July 29 (UNI) Rich tributes were paid to Union Territory of Puducherry's first Chief Minister Edward Goubert on his 113th birth anniversary here today.

Puducherry's Speaker R Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha member M Ramadass and former Speaker M D R Ramachandran garlanded the Goubert statue at Bharathi park in front of the Legislative Assembly on behalf of the Territorial Administration.

Floral tributes were also paid to the leader at the PCC office here, after which the PCC President P Shanmugham distributed sweets to the party volunteers.
