Rajasekharan terms meeting with Gowda casual
Mysore, July 29 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajashekaran today clarified that there was no political significance to his meeting with former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda in Bangalore yesterday.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said it was a casual meeting.
''I used to meet him (Mr Gowda) when he comes to New Delhi. We usually discuss issues relating to development of the State and the country and share views on various issues.'' The issue relating to transfer of power by the JD(S) to its coalition partner BJP in the State never figured in the meeting, he added.
Stating that nothing could be predicted in politics, he said the Congress aimed at preventing communal forces from coming to power in the country and the State as it would hamper national development.
