ML Sukhadia University VC accused of nepotism in appointment

Jaipur, July 29(UNI) Mohanlal Sukhadia University Vice Chancellor Prof BL Chaudhary has been accused of nepotism in appointment with his daughter-in-law cornering the post of an Associate Professor in Polymer Chemistry on alleged spurious research.

Democratic Teachers Front, an organisation of academicians alleged that the Vice chancellor has thrown to wind all kinds of propriety by appointing his daughter-in-law as an Associate Professor in Polymer Chemistry just days before his retirement, even as her basic qualification in Chemistry and her PhD thesis were found to be plagiarised.

Democratic Teachers Front president Dr SB Lal and secretary Dr Durga Prasad Agarwal, while addressing a press conference here today, alleged that the appointment was made neglecting the claim of other genuine candiates, who have specialised degrees in Polymer Chemistry.

Mr Lal, a retired Prof of the University said the reserach of Dr Jyothi Chaudhary's doctoral thesis has been found to be a plagiarised version of another research condcuted by Vandana Joshi under the same guide and Controller of Examinations BL Hiran.

Dr Lal claimed that since the doctoral degree is the only qualification in her case, as she has neither cleared NET or SLET, the plagiarism in the doctoral thesis renders her candidature 'ineligible' for the post. Moreover the thesis of Jyothi Chaudhary has nothing to do with Polymer Chemistry.

Mr Agarwal also alleged that the University under the stewardship of Prof Chaudhary has also flouted the reservation roster in the appointment.
