Madras Cements profit up by 27.53 pc in Q1

Chennai, July 29: The Madras Cements' net profit rose by 27.53 per cent to Rs 1,005.6 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as against Rs 788.5 million in the corresponding period last year.

Net Sales rose by 37.69 per cent to Rs 4,693.7 million against Rs 3,408.9 million in the same quarter in the previous year, a company release said here today.

Total income increased by 37.11 per cent to Rs 4,713.9 million against Rs 3,437.9 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

The earning per share rose to Rs 83 from Rs 65, the release added.
