Law demanded for preventing entry of industrialists in retail sector

Jabalpur, July 29 (UNI) Gondwana Ganatantra Party (GGP) working president Dilip Singh Bhuria today demanded the Madhya Pradesh Government to enact laws, to prevent the entry of big industrial houses in the retail sector in the state to protect livelihoods of several lakhs of poor.

Mr Bhuria told reporters here today that the Madhya Pradesh Khudra Bachao Sangharsh Samiti has decided to launch a massive agitation to prevent multinationals and industrial houses from entering in this sector.

He said continuing big companies in the retail sector in the state would be a mistake on the part of the government, as it would take away the livelihood of several people and increase unemployment.

''With the entry of capitalists into retail sector, price of daily-use goods would skyrocket, depriving the common man from use of essential commodities,'' he opined.

Mr Bhuria, who is the patron of the Akhil Bharatiya Khudra Vyapar Sangharsh Samiti, said the Samiti would make efforts to launch public awareness campaign on a large scale in this regard. Small businessmen and common man would be informed about the effects, and efforts would be made to bring everybody together against the struggle.

He said committees were being formed at district and block levels in the state to give the agitation a bigger dimension. The task to form district and block level committees would completed within one month and three months respectively.

After the formation of committees, the State Government would be pressurised to enact a law to prevent capitalists from entering into this sector.

Mr Bhuria expressed satisfaction from the support received from all sides and parties. Efforts were being made to connect farmers and citizens in this struggle.
