IGNOU to host 4th convention of 'National Alliance for Mission 2007'

New Delhi, July 29 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will host the fourth convention of the 'National Alliance for Mission 2007' on village knowledge centres from August 1.

The convention will deliberate upon the various issues regarding connectivity of six lakh villages in India through combination either of internet and community radio or internet and the mobile phones.

Every block shall have a Village Resource Centre with the help of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), an IGNOU spokesperson said.

IGNOU is collaboration in the venture with M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Microsoft, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), telecentre.org besides other organsiations.
