Host of Bollywood celebs add glamour to Osian's filmfest in Delhi
New Delhi, July 29 (UNI) There was a more glitzy and starry air to the Osian's Cinefan festival of Asian and Arab cinema this year with a host of celebrities from the tinsel town of Bollywood descending on the Capital in the week gone by to revel in the annual celebration of cinema.
The ten day festival, which draws to a close this evening with the screening of 'Cut and Paste', saw the arrival of celebrities from the tinsel town, all of them drawn by their love for the art of cinema.
Lending a touch of glamour to the proceedings were Bollywood actors Manisha Koirala, Divya Dutta, GulPanag, Seema Biswas, Raima Sen, Neha Dhupia, Konkona Sen Sharma, Jimmy Shergill, Vivek Oberoi, his father Suresh Oberoi, Manoj Bajpai, Kirron Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Ranvir Shourey, Pravin Dabas and Sonali Kulkarni.
The inaugural day of the ninth edition of the Osian's Cinefan saw Bollywood actors Manisha Koirala, Divya Dutta and Gul Panag walk the red carpet. Both GulPanag and Divya Dutta have had their films screened at the Osian's Cinefan. While the festival screened two films featuring Gul Panag - 'Manorama Six Feet Under' and 'Mithya', the Divya Dutta-starrer 'Kahani Gudiya Ki', based on the real life incident involving Gudiya and featuring the actor in the title role, was screened at the festival yesterday.
Subsequent days saw Neha Dhupia, Ranvir Shourey,Raima Sen, Praveen Dabas, Kay Kay Menon and Sonali Kulkarni arrive at the festival. While Neha and Ranvir were in connection with the screening of their film 'Mithya', directed by Rajat Kapoor, Praveen Dabas, Kay Kay Menon and Sonali Kulkarni were here for the screening of their film 'Via Darjeeling'.
However,the festival saw a great excitement among the cinema lovers when actor Vivek Oberoi arrived on Wednesday for the screening of Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Omkara'.Thursday saw the arrival of yesteryears' actor and Vivek's father Suresh Oberoi along with Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Arif Zakaria and Naseeruddin Shah.
Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Arif were here in connection with the screening of their film 'Kahani Gudiya Ki'yesterday morning.
The arrival of actor Jimmy Shergill on Friday, in connection with the screening of his film 'Strangers',directed by debutant director Anand Rai, on Saturday,also created a lot of excitement.
Saturday, the penultimate day of the festival, saw the arrival of actor Manoj Bajpai for the screening of his film 'Return to Rajapur' as well as actor Sarika,whose 'Manorama Six Feet under' was screened at the festival.
Also seen at the Siri Fort was Bollywood scriptwriter Jaideep Sahni (who has written the script of 'Jungle', 'Bunty Aur Babli' as well as forthcoming films like 'Chak De India' and the Madhuri Dikshit-starrer 'Aaja Nachle').
