Govt to revamp gateways to boost Indo-bangla trade
Kolkata, Jul 29: To boost bilateral trade between India and Bangladesh, the Centre would upgrade infrastructure of three trade gateways between Bangladesh and West Bengal.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh said the Petrapole, through which the bulk bilateral trade takes place, would be revamped with an investment of Rs 90 crore.
''We will also upgrade infrastructure at three points in Changrabandha, Hilli and Phulbari,'' he said.
The main three gateways Petrapole in Bengal-Bangladesh border, Ruxol in Indo-Nepal border and Wagah in Indo-Pakistan border would be upgraded.
