Delegates from Bangladesh to promote mutual rail communicability

Krishnagar, July 29 (UNI) A 35-member delegation from Bangladesh arrived at Kolkata's Chitpur station by Maitreyi Express today to promote good relations and enhance communicability betwen the two nations.

The train service, an Indian initiative, was an effort to improve communicability between the two nations with an eye to enable daily wage earners to cross borders on a regular basis.

The delegation included Bangladesh Additional Secretary (Communications) APKN Ismail, Joint Secretary(Home) Begum Kamaruu Nesakhalan, Joint Secretary(Rail) Sakhikalam Meyadi.

Mr Ismail appreciated the effort and hoped that train services would be extended to six days a week to enable daily wage earners from both sides to cross borders and attend work.

The representatives of the Railway Department of both sides will meet tomorrow to discuss the scope and opportunites of extending train services between the countries.
