CPI(M) and CPI protest Khammam police firing

Patna, Jul 29 (UNI) The CPI(M) and the CPI today staged dharna and took out statewide protest against the killing of eight people in police firing in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh.

The protest was led by CPI (M) and CPI state unit secretaries Vijaykant Thakur and Badri Narayan Lal respectively.

The demonstration started from Gandhi Maidan and reached Dak Banglow chowk where an effigy of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajshekhar Reddy was burnt amidst slogans against the ruling Congress government for suppressing land reform movement.

The leaders said the AP government as well as the UPA government of the Centre will have to face serious consequences in case it failed to initiate concrete step to takle the situation.
