Shimla, July 29 (UNI) The Central Government has allowed Jagson Airlines to buy a big commercial plane this year and another eight next year to increase its frequency among various towns and cities of the country.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Jakhu Ropeway company's Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) J P Gupta said the addition of new planes would add to the company's existing fleet and increase its frequency between various towns and cities.

He said the new planes being purchased would be used to increase its frequency between the regional centres.

Besides, Jagsons International was the only company, which had kept Himachal Pradesh on the aviation map of the country, as against other company's that operate only during the summer season to earn profits, Mr Gupta said.

Keeping in view of the tourism potential of the state, he said the company was also willing to introduce heli-taxis in the state if the government initiated the process.

Besides, increasing the inflow of high-end tourists into the state, the heli-taxis would help in creating the requisite infrastructure and providing direct or indirect employment to the educated unemployed, he added.
