Women weightlifters ready for World Championship
Patiala, July 28 (UNI) Indian women weightlifters are working hard in the ongoing national coaching camp here at the NIS to prove a point in the World Weightlifting Championship slated for September 15 to 24 in Chinghai, Thailand.
Eleven women weightlifters, including Sydney Olympics bronze medallist Karnam Malleswari, are in training since May 18 under the supervision of SAI weightlifting coaches: Dronacharya awardee Hansa Sharma, K Amarnath and Ranjan Singh.
The national trials are billed for July 31 at the NIS in the afternoon when the Indian women squad for World Weighlifting Championship will be announced in seven weight categories: 48 kg, 53 kg, 58 kg, 63 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg and 75 kg +.
