Kolkata, Jul 28: With the target of maintaining the net exports of US 5 million kgs in the current fiscal, Tata Tea and Tata Coffee is entering Russian market.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Union Minister of state for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh said, ''The Tata Tea and Tata Coffee, along with some international partner, will enter the Russian market in a big way. The venture will promote "Brand India" in Russia.'' Mr Ramesh said around 22 per cent of the total coffee from India is exported to Russia. However, there is no presence of Indian brand in that country either in tea or coffee.

''We will explore into new emerging markets like Pakistan and Iran and expand its export base in Russia,'' he said.

''Russia was a traditional export market for India. However, the Russian consumer pattern is changing as they are shifting from Asom CTC to orthodox. Therefore we need to enter this market,'' he said.
