TN: SIO to organise three "yatras"
Chennai, July 28: The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India will organise three ''yatras'', commencing on November one from Kolkata, Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram.
In a statement here today, SIO all India President Bishruddin Sharqi said the ''yatras'' would culminate in Mumbai on November 25, where a National Conference was scheduled.
He said the ''yatras'' were to commemorate the SIO's silver jubilee.
As part of the silver jubilee celebration a three-day national workshop would be held at Aligarh University from August six.
Both the national conference and workshop would deliberate on topics like how to make the student community more socially responsibile concomitant with their academic responsibilities.
The workshop would discuss prevailing educational system, change in curriculum and opposing introduction of sex education.
The draft of the deliberations would be submitted to the Centre to consider for implementation, he added.
