One killed, three injured in cylinder explosion

Barasat, Jul 28 (UNI) One person was killed and three others were seriously injured in a gas-cylinder explosion at Nabapally area under Barasat police station today.

Police said the accident occured when the cylinder exploded in a motor garage, where the victims were working as mechanics.

The cylinder was used for welding purpose, police said.

The deceased succumbed to his injuries on the spot while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the owner of the garage is absconding and investigation was on to ascertain the cause of the explosion, police added.
