Mullana's appointment will strengthen Haryana Cong: Hooda

Hisar, July 28 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the appointment of Phool Chand Mullana as state Congress president would strengthen the party.

''Mr Mullana is a very senior and experienced Congress leader and his appointment would strengthen the party,'' Mr Hooda said while talking to reporters at Hansi town in the district.

He said Mr Mullana's appointment was reflective of deep insight and good judgement of the Congress high command.

To a question, he said the expansion of Haryana council of ministers would be done at an ''appropriate and proper time.'' In reply to another question, the Chief Minister said the law and order situation in the state had improved a lot in the past two years. Most of the criminals had left the state and some have been killed in the encounter, he added.

He expressed satisfaction regarding power position in Haryana and claimed to have overcome the problem of power shortage.

He said the power generation has been increased considerably to meet the demand in the state.

The Chief Minister later laid the foundation stones of new blocks of the Government College and the ITI building.
