Mokochung DC for more stringent ICP procedure

Kohima, Jul 28 (UNI) The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung district in Nagaland has issued an order to make the procedure for renewing or issuing the Inner Line Permit (ILP), to people from Assam's Karimganj, Cachar, Silchar and Hailakandi districts, more stringent Officials here today said, DC Abhishek Singh had said no application for renewal or issuance of fresh ILP to any person belonging to these districts would be processed without relevant documents.

The order also stated that henceforth the certified copies of electoral rolls, prescribed by Election Commission of India, would only be accepted as proof of residence.

He also said it was observed that many ILP holders supposedly belonging to these districts of Assam have left Mokokchung following the call given by the Ao Students Union against illegal migrants from Bangladesh there.
