Law and order would be maintained in AP: Cong

New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) The Congress today expressed the hope that the Andhra Pradesh government would restore law and order in Khammam district where eight people were killed in police firing during a Left-sponsored bandh.

''We hope peace and calm would be restored and law and order is fully maintained,'' AICC spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters.

However, the party would be in a position to comment in detail only later as the events had taken place only a few hours ago, he said.
